Caching In Lake County

On July 18, 2007, while caching along Highway 20, in Lake County, I was about to check around a downed log for a cache. Good thing I looked before I stuck my hand under the log. When it started to move away I realized it was looking at me - the business end is at the upper left - can't really make it out but its there.

Sims Big Brother

It was a beautiful Spring day in the upper Sacramento River drainage. I stopped on the way home and took a picture of Mt. Shasta and Castle Craigs.

Going to "Dam" geocache

This morning was one of those clear, cold, and crisp mornings in northern California that I love. I took this picture on the way to a geocache called "Dam", for obvious reasons. This is the second view that I have captured of the "big three Shastas" - Dam, Lake, Mountain.

Caching In Oregon

A beautiful morning west of Klamath Falls, Oregon - on our way to "A Garmin Mile" geocache. My wife, Nola, (left) and our friends Terry and Connie from Idaho were out walking off a night of food and wine tasting.

At Old Weaver Bally Lookout

This is my oldest son, Peter, with his dog Loyd, and myself at the geocache "Old Weaver Bally Lookout". The footing to the lookout is to the left. One of my employees was responsible for removing the lookout by helicopter to the Weaverville airport and eventually to the Ranger Station at Weaverville. The new lookout used the steel from the old Billy's Peak Lookout, north of Coffee Creek. On the way home, we came across a small reattle snake on the road about two miles from this site.

Mt. Shasta (again)

I never get tired of taking pictures of Mt. Shasta - different angles; different elevations. This one is taken from the east side of Black Butte, on the way to geocache "Black Butte-y".

Going to Black Butte-y

This is about half way to the top of Black Butte and geocache "Black Butte-y". Looking west with Interstate 5 in the foreground.
